Until the end of February 2013, the Cathedral community was led by the Very Reverend Dr Helen Jacobi, as the Dean of Waiapu.
From 1st March 2013, Bishop John Bluck (former Bishop of Waiapu, and former Dean of Christchurch) is the Acting-Dean of Waiapu Cathedral. A search process is underway to appoint a new Dean. ( refer Diocesan web-site - Vacancies - http://waiapu.com/latest-news-2/vacancies/
Dean Helen's final services as Dean of Waiapu were held on Sunday 24th February 2013 - at 10.00am she preached and presided at the Choral Eucharist and returned symbols of ministry to the Parish which were presented to her during her installation nine year's ago. The primary focus of this service was the Parish farewell. And at 5.00pm Bishop David Rice led Choral Evening Worship, with Dean Helen preaching and returning symbols of her role as Diocesan Dean; the focus of this service was the Diocese and wider community as well as the parish. Helen has taken up a three-month residency scholarship at the Virginia Theological Seminary, USA.

Gary Bowler QSM - Nationally-acclaimed Choir Director and Organist. Gary is New Zealand’s longest serving cathedral organist.
Rev'd Jon Williams, Rev'd Dorothy Brooker and Rev'd Graeme Pilgrim - Assisting clergy who lead worship at the Cathedral and Ormond Chapel, and undertake pastoral care.
Basil Brooker - Events Coordinator
Malcolm Smith - Verger who cares for the Cathedral grounds and building.
Rebecca Pimm - Op Shop Coordinator who manages the shop and its volunteers.
Elisabeth Paterson - Pastoral worker who cares in particular for elderly parishioners.
Jennifer Harris - Workplace chaplain and at the Cathedral contributes to liturgy and planning.
Cathedral leadership (Vestry and Chapter) - The Cathedral has two oversight bodies:
- The Cathedral Chapter who are concerned with the Diocesan and community facing ministries; and
- the Vestry who are responsible for the parish ministry and day to day running of the Cathedral.
